The Joe and Lizzie Cronly Memorial Tractor Run took place on Sunday, April 6, around the Allenwood area.
Kicking off at noon from Allenwood GAA Club, the event attracted a strong crowd, with vital funds being raised for Friends of Naas Hospital. While the rain that morning did dampen the turnout slightly, there was still a very good showing from lots of vehicles and their owners.
“We’re delighted with the event,” organiser Julie Cronly revealed. “We’re still taking in donations, but so far we’re at €3,200 and counting!”
Now in its third year, the rally is run for a very personal reason for Julie and her family. Her father died in Naas Hospital three years ago after a prolonged stay, while her mother passed away there at Christmas.
“In the past three years, I’m delighted to say we’ve raised €15,000 for the hospital,” she told the Leinster Leader. Anyone who wishes to make a donation, can contact Julie on 087-9774710 or Paul on 086-8100251. Paul Wright, Sean and Shane Leeson, Thomas McKenna and Liam Doyle.
Ger Boland was on hand to capture the highlights for the Leinster Leader.
