Restored Nurney quarry turned into attraction

The Bennett family have managed to restore an unsightly quarry into a fabulous amenity for fishermen, families, and tourists.

Nurney Lakes boasts a pet farm, two fishing lakes and a a nature reserve lake, as well as a children’s activity area and coffee shop. Just opened three weeks now, word is spreading of its existence. It is also home to a flock of Sand Martins and Ernie Bennett recently spoke on Derek Mooney’s radio show about these fascinating birds. The Leinster Leader paid a visit this week.
