The visitors Old Alex scored a goal early in the first half and capitalised on two short corners to bring the final score to 3-0.

Newbridge worked hard throughout the game. Grace Monahan created good space using her hit outs to drive the ball into the wings. Anne O’Connell, Sandra Whelan and Martina Kenny provided great leadership in the centre, working tirelessly throughout the game.

There was great team play between Jenny Kavanagh and Cathleen McGovern up front. Aoife Fennell was on her toes in goals throughout the game, taking on the opposition in one on one situations.

Everyone played with great heart and the team was disappointed with the final result.
