Senior hurling championship gets under way

The Kildare Senior Hurling Championship gets under way this evening (Friday) and continues tomorrow afternoon, writes TOMMY CALLAGHAN.

First up this evening sees Naas take on Clane in Sarsfields which has a 7.30 throw-in while at the same time in Celbridge, beaten senior league finalists, Ardclough, face up to Leixliip.

Tomorrow, Saturday, sees champions, Celbridge, open their campaign as they bid to make in four SHC titles in a row. Their opponents in Clane are Confey which throws-in at 2.30 and is followed at 4 pm by Éire Óg Corrachoill and Coill Dubh.
