FROM the Premier League to Division 5 of the Senior Football League. Former Ireland striker Niall Quinn has taken charge of Eadestown’s second team just months after stepping down as Director of International Development at Sunderland.
Quinn, whose children Mikey and Aisling play their football with Eadestown, was officially ratified at a club meeting last Wednesday night. The former Arsenal player previously enjoyed success on the field with Eadestown and won a Junior C Football Championship title with them in 2008, coming on as a sub for the final ten minutes.
Speaking to the Leinster Leader this week, Quinn said he is delighted to have reignited his managerial career with his local club. – Ruth O’Brien
