Lilies Juniors too strong for Cats
Holders, Kildare, booked their semi final spot in the Leinster Junior Football Championship with a comfortable win over a poor Kilkenny side on Wednesday evening last on a score line of Kildare 0-18 Kilkenny 1-2.
Although the visitors to St. Conleth’s Park did convert an early penalty, overall they were totally out of their depth, against a Kildare side that will have to show big improvement if they are to get over semi final opponents Meath in a few weeks time.
Kildare led by 0-11 to 1-0 at half time and never really had to get out of second gear to record this facile victory.
Scorers: Kildare, Seamus Hanafin 0-4 (3f), Cathal McNally 0-2, Dermot Earley 0-2, Darren Barker 0-2, Cian Bolton 0-2 (1f), Aidan Dunne 0-2 (1f), Daniel Flynn 0-1, Gareth Duffy 0-1, Colm Fagan 0-1, Joey Keogh 0-1.
Kilkenny, Graham Lawlor 1-0 (1 pen) Brian Byrne 0-2 (2f).
