Under pressure in the opening period Kildare gradually got to grips with Tyrone hitting five points in succession to get in at half time leading 0-6 to 0-3.
Kildare led 0-10 to 1-6 after 51 minutes, however a second Tyrone goal from centrre half back Peter Harte, set up Mickey Harte’s side for a comfortable seven point win.
