Ardclough run out com-prehensive winners against a young, yet determined Castlemitchell side on a scoreline of 6-5 to 1-2 in the Feile D Final, writes Eoin Beatty.
Ardclough: 6-5
Castlemitchell: 1-2
Ardclough never seemed to be under any real threat throughout the course of the game and took a well deserved lead after 5 minutes through a point from midfielder Aaron Kelly.
From here on in, it was all one way traffic as the boys in black, red and yellow began to press on. They registered a further 3-4 before John Knight’s half-time whistle and holding their opponents to just a solitary point through Darragh Moore.
Ardclough had certainly brought their shooting boots, especially Keith Abbot who racked up 3-1.
Castlemitchell, did however show glimpses of the crafty football that had brought them to the final in the first place with an excellently worked move, finished off by a thumping effort into the back of the net from Dylan Brennan.
But, it was to be Ardclough’s day. Right from the very beginning of the game, they looked to be hot favourites to run out eventual winners and they did that in admirable stlye.
