Celbridge crowned senior hurling champions

Two late frees by Billy White saw Celbridge crowned senior hurling champions over Coill Dubh on Sunday afternoon.

In control for most of the game Celbridge had to withstand a spirited Coill Dubh comeback that saw them level with five minutes remaining. However the boys from the north of the county upped their game again with White's two frees.

Meanwhile a point from John Fogarty in the final minute of extra time saw St. Laurences book their place in the final of the Wyeth SFC.

In an incredible semi final replay, the winners looked to have the game won in ordinary time but Celbridge fought back to level and then go two clear in extra time only for The Larries to hit back with Fogarty getting the winner just as a draw seemed almost inevitable.
