Portlaoise Celtic hold top spot on 44 points but they have three games more played. Despite the lack of goals both sides served up an entertaining ninety minutes with plenty of goalmouth action.
Wayward finishing however was the order of the day.
In a game that both sides were desperate to win it was Carbury who started the better.
They were on top for the first fifteen minutes but could not convert several early chances with Kevin Smyth being denied by a top notch save from Galhoy keeper Owen O'Mahoney, who did a fine job as he stood in for Alan Gormley, the hero of Galhoy's Shield Final victory over Moone Celtic the previous week. Jimmy Dunne and David Cash were both narrowly off target as Carbury continued to dominate.
Despite worsening weather conditions both sides tried to play attractive football and as the game progressed Galhoy started to get a grip on proceedings.
Dave O'Connor was pulling the strings in the centre of the pitch, setting up several chances for his side as half time approached but Eamon Corry, Dave O'Connor and Justin Moran all missed chances that on another day they would have put away.
Carbury, despite having the aid of a strong wind, reached half time scoreless and this was due in no small way to the efforts Galhoy's back four of Steve Dempsey, Carl Rigney, Steve Archbold and Alan Doran, who defended stoutly.
The second half was played at a frantic pace as both sides searched for that elusive goal, which would have given them the advantage in the race for the title.
Darren Conway made a number of incisive runs down the right flank but his inviting crosses were not taken advantage of by an off-colour Galhoy attack.
The visitors were not without their chances but both Jimmy Dunne and Colm Connolly were superbly denied by the heroics of the impressive O'Mahoney in the Galhoy goals.
Jamie Brooks replaced Shane Dempsey in midfield for the Newbridge based side on the hour and he was instrumental in creating a number of openings.
However, a mixture of good defending by a Carbury defence, that was well marshalled by centrebacks Darren O'Neill and Colm Connolly and some more wayward finishing saw the scoreline remain blank as Eamon Corry, Darren Conway and Brooks all seemed to have left their shooting boots behind.
Both sides still have a chance to win the league and they will meet again in fourteen days when another drawn game would almost certainly hand the title to Portlaoise Celtic.
Impressive for Galhoy FC were Steve Archbold, Alan Doran, Dave O'Connor and Owen Mahony in goals.
Carbury were best served by Eddie Connolly at full back and David Cash and Kevin Smyth in midfield.
