Major Step forward for Community Alert Group
A meeting of the Carbury Community Alert Group took place at Carbury GAA Centre on Wednesday, 7th November. A good crowd attended along with members of An Garda Siochana. Special guest on the night was Mr. Conor O’Leary, Community Alert Organiser and co-ordinator with Muintir Na Tire. Mr. O’Leary informed the crowd that a new communications company is now operating countrywide in conjunction with An Garda Siochana and Muintir Na Tire. Communications is done through Text Messaging and is routed through the Garda Network throughout Ireland.
The Carbury Community Alert Group see this as a major breakthrough and will help to significantly reduce the amount of crime.
Mr. O’Leary will be attending a further meeting in Derrinturn in the near future and everyone is invited to get involved to help reduce the amount of burglaries and house break-ins.
He will explain the workings of this New Communications System and how it will operate. embers of An Garda Siochana will also be attending the meeting.
People in the Carbury area should be very vigilant at all times and should keep a eye on elderly people, especially those living alone.
