Trainer Dermot Weld, jockey Pat Smullen and dual derby winner Harzand
Harzand remains an intended runner in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Chantilly next month, his trainer Dermot Weld has confirmed.
The dual Derby winner finished eighth under champion jockey Pat Smullen in the QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes, with Weld later revealing Harzand had been struck into during the race and he was found to be lame behind afterwards.
Meanwhile Seamus Heffernan, who has not ridden since his fall in Doncaster last Saturday week, expects to be back in action for the Curragh meeting on Sunday. The Sallins rider was unshipped from 4/6 favourite Idaho in the St Leger and has chosen to take an extra week on the side-lines on medical advice.
