Newbridge Colts: 2

Bush Celtic: 2

At this point of the match Bush began to establish dominance in the midfield area that resulted in a few good goal scoring opportunities for the away team.

Colts then got back into the game and their equaliser came on the stroke of half time through the last season’s top scorer Ciaran Thorpe, who finished superbly following a well placed corner kick. The ball was only knocked into the path of the Colts player who composed himself and finished into the right corner under pressure.

There were second half chances for the Colts for Niall McCormack, Stephen Bennett and Dean O’Toole but they went abegging.

The Colts did manage to take the lead through Dean O’Toole’s fantastic strike from outside the box, the winger took the ball on the volley and it left the goalkeeper no chance flying into the left corner of the goal.

Bush leveled when a quick free kick from Ciaran Tierney found Peter McDonald who squared for Declan Hanley to head past the Colts ‘keeper.

Impressive for the Colts were Dean O’Toole and Ciaran Thorpe while best for the Bush were David Mullins in goals, Robert Kearns at the back and Peter McDonald up front.
