The pitches in Naas Sports Centre were in immaculate condition as Naas took to the pitch. A wrong call on the toss of a coin meant that Naas would have to play against the wind.

The thought of nerves never came into the equation as Naas in their first attack played the ball out to Andrew Lyons whose exquisite cross found Adam Byrne on the far post and he sidestepped the cross home for he opening score.

The game was over as a contest after 14 minutes when Andrew Lyons hit a fierce shot from the edge of the box following a direct free kick.

Aaron Fox in the Kynog goal was helpless as the ball nestled in the net behind him.

Kynog got a glimpse of hope as Mark Cully beat the Naas defence and as he powered down on goal Naas ‘keeper was adjudged to have fouled him and the referee pointed to the spot.

Kynog scored from the spt kick. This goal gave Kynog some hope and they played the best football of the hour during this period.

With half time approaching it was looking good for Kynog. It was then that the Maestro took a hand in affairs – Liam Cummins with a swivel of his hips set up Lyons down the wing and his cross ball was met by Sam Harney to slot home.

The second half saw Naas take complete control as with the advantage of the wind they scored two goals within a minute as Adam Byrne and Jack Collins scored to seal the victory.

Naas AFC have now been crowned league champions having gone through the league undefeated only drawing two games.

Naas AFC now try to do the double as the face Arlington in the cup final in a fortnights time.

Naas had fine players in Liam Cummins, Andrew Lyons and Jamie Doylw hile for Kynog United Adrian Mills and Ciaraon Holton tried hardest.
