A hugely significant event in the St. Farnan’s Post-Primary calendar was held last month when students from the present cohort and those who have just left the school this year were acknowledged for their outstanding efforts in academia, extra curricular activities, attendance and social skills. In all, over 100 awards were presented by Principal, Eddie Collins and Assistant Principal, Sean Clarke.

Among those receiving awards on the night were Conor McManus, who received the award for the best Leaving Certificate Results of 2012 and Tommie Maher, whose excellent Junior Certificate results were also acknowledged. Both of these awards were sponsored by Bank of Ireland and were presented by Joe Fennell, manager of the Naas branch.

The recipient of the prestigious Colin Fox Award was Wayne Cash. This award is presented annually to the student who did outstanding ‘work with their hands’ by Joe Fox, in memory of his son Colin Fox who was a pupil in the school. Wayne was nominated by the staff and he received an engraved mirror and a n250 voucher as his prize.

This annual event was attended by a large crowd of parents, family members and staff and thanks were extended to Ms. Dowling and Mr. Brennan who led the organising committee.
