There was a low key protest by a small group of Newbridge Credit Union Action Group members as the Naas Credit Union opened a third branch at the shopping centre in Monread, Naas.
The new office was due to open six months previously but the opening was help up, partly because of delays surrounding planning issues.
TV personality Daithi O Se attended the official opening on Saturday (September 28) and cut the ceremonial ribbon; however the office has been open to the public since the beginning of the month.
According to a Naas CU statement the opening means members will be able to avail of off existing services at North Main Street and Monread.
The opening hours for both offices are the same and the public will be able to access savings and apply for loans at Monread.
The opening was marked by free refreshments, prize draws, giveaways and family fun/entertainment.
Naas Credit Union also operates a smaller branch at Ballymore Eustace
