Operator Glenn Phillips told the Leader yesterday (August 12) that he no option but to shut up shop because the enterprise is not profitable.

Red Cottage Retail opened in mid-April, effectively as a rebranded Dandelion Market.

Currently there are dozen different enterprises, mainly sole traders selling food, arts/crafts, fashuion items and gifts.

Mr. Phillips said that while pay parking is a factor, he felt people are simply not spending money.

“We have plently of people coming in but it seems that they are not spending enough to make the centre viable.”
