RTE presenter Ryan Tubridy will be the special guest speaker at Network Ireland Kildare’s first event of 2014.
The networking organisation for women in business, the professins and the arts will hold a lunch on Tuesday, January 28, next at the Killashee House Hotel in Naas, starting at 12.30pm.
President Susan Webster said she was looking forward to hearing Tubridy’s views on exactly what makes people successful.
The RTE star’s recent book, ‘The Irish Are Coming’, looked at the success abroad of emigrants from the emerald isle. It was released last November, and follows his first book, JFK in Ireland.
His new work is an examination of the relationship between Britain and Ireland through the lens of Irish people who have lived in Britain and “succeeded over there in some shape or form”, he said. Among those featured are broadcaster Terry Wogan, Harry Potter actor Fiona Shaw, and musician Bob Geldof.
“I would encourage all members to attend and would welcome anyone interested in joining Network Ireland to come along,” said Ms Webster.
Network Ireland has eight branches around Ireland.
Kildare is currently one of the largest and most vibrant, providing a forum where women in business, the professions and the arts can exchange business ideas and increase their business contacts.
Members and guests are welcome to attend and bring a colleague. Please register in advance at http://nikbryantubridy.eventbrite.com. There is a nominal fee of €10 for guests. Light refreshments will be served at the event.
