THERE are over 50 stall holders lined up for the Curragh’s first Christmas market. The first market took place last Sunday, and it is now on every weekend until Christmas.
It promises to have ‘everything you’d want from a Christmas market’ including Santa Claus who can be found in his Igloo which is open for visitors over the next four Saturdays.
There will be stalls with gifts of all types, many of them handmade and local, delicious home-baking, seasonal foods, Christmas decorations and hot food and good coffee while St Brigid’s Hospice will be selling Christmas cards to raise money.
Some of the exceptional crafters present at the fair include Have Ewe Any Wool, handcrafted wooden children’s toys and furniture, hand knits by Majella, handmade cards, soaps, candles, tea-lights, Curragh Cuties – handmade items for the home and special occasions, Scentyse Wickless Candles, Candy Chicks sweet trees and Just By Me arts and crafts, who will also be running a crafts workshop on the days of the market.
Bikes, eyewear, waterproof coats and bags, local landscape photography, festive floral arrangements and wreathes and chic accessories for the home will also be on sale.
Meanwhile the caricaturist Steve Mulreany will be there to capture a friend or family member for an alternative gift idea. On the edible side, there will be artisan breads, delicious cakes and pastries, jams and chutneys, and gluten-free cakes.
And for lovers of coffee, there will be a master blender on site to keep everyone perked up and warm.
