Tributes have poured in for the two teenagers who tragicially died in a car accident last Saturday, October 1.

Friends Jamie Lee (19) from Narraghmore and Claudia Govea (18) from Kilcullen were killed when the car they were travelling in was in a collision with another vehicle.

The accident happened shortly before 3pm on Saturday at Brownstown, Kilcullen. Two women, in their 30s and also from Narraghmore, in the second car were taken to Naas General Hospital.

Jamie Lee was a keen badminton player. He was a past pupil of Knockbeg College in Carlow and was working in a Chinese takeaway in Narraghmore.

A keen soccer player whose family has roots in Cuba, Claudia had completed her Leaving Certificate this summer and was studying in UCD.

“The whole community is devastated,” said Kildare south TD Martin Heydon.

Gardaí are appealing for anybody who has any information on the accident, or who witnessed the crash on Saturday, to contact them at Naas Garda station on 045 884300.
