The Osprey Hotel, Naas, was the venue last week for the annual charity lunch last Friday, November 16, hosted by Network Ireland Kildare in aid of Rainbows Ireland.

Over 200 business women and guests were welcomed by Yvonne Malone, President of Network Ireland Kildare, the organisation for women in business, the professions and the arts, established locally in 2000.

Over €16,000 was raised on the day. The funds will help Rainbows continue with the invaluable work they undertake in their 23 centres throughout County Kildare.

“One of the aims and objectives of the organisation is through the joint effort of our members, to promote the welfare of the community and each year we fundraise for a local worthy charity, this year we are delighted to be working closely with Rainbows Ireland (Kildare)”, said Ms Malone.

“Fireworks”, the song and video by Katy Perry was played for guests as she has dedicated her song to children worldwide, and it is a theme song used by Rainbows.

Rainbows provides a national support service for children and young adults experiencing grief and loss resulting from the death of someone close, separation and divorce.

With the continuous generous support of sponsors and donations of raffle prizes from local businesses, Network Ireland Kildare have raised €120,000 for local charities in recent years.

The main sponsors of the lunch this year were Country Kitchens, Ballymore Eustace, Danebury Diamonds Naas, Coonan Cawley Solicitors Naas and Tesco Ireland Naas.
