A Naas soccer club looks set to agree a major sponsorship deal with the Kerry Group, which is set to create up to 900 jobs in the town.
The Leinster Leader has learned that an announcement of a sponsorship arrangement with Naas AFC will be released shortly; meaning that the club has stolen a march on other sports organisations in the town.
The giant food company has a long standing association with Kerry GAA and is almost synonymous with the county senior football team.
It is understood that the deal is worth a substantial five figure sum to the club over a period of three years.
Naas AFC was established in 1990 and caters for juvenile and schoolboy teams. The club also has an academy for younger players and fields up to 20 teams.
The club is based at the Caragh Road sports ground.
