Curragh applies for racetrack funding

The Curragh race track is one of 26 that have applied to Horseracing Ireland for funding under its Developments Scheme. HRI has a €6m fund to develop tracks and the racing authority will provide 50% in grant aid towards the projects.

The Curragh has been approved for a number of development works with most of these addressing the track itself but there are also plans to upgrade the bar facilities by the parade ring.

The full list of development plans for the Curragh approved for funding are as follows:Upgrade the watering system; Upgrade the Tote Hall (catering facility near entrance); Replace fencing on the Ballymany Rd; Trackside fencing at the West End; Upgrade bar facilities by parade ring; photo finish camera tower and carpark signage.
