Naas Town Hall clock could chime again

Naas Town Hall clock

Time was when each passing hour in Naas was marked by the chiming of the clock at the Town Hall.

The clock still works but it no longer rings.

But local councillor Seamie Moore wants a chiming system reinstalled in the clock, which has existed since 1886.

Kildare County Council is open to the idea and a clock specialist, who services the clock and who will be in Ireland next month, is to be contacted to see if the work can be done and at what cost.
