Ballymore tackles food waste

Food waste is a global problem

A three course meal will be prepared in Ballymore today using food that would have been destined for landfill.

Ballymore Tidy Towns is working with an Irish environmentalal group VOICE to highlight the amount of food going to waste and the fact that one million tonnes of food is wasted in Ireland every year.

Chef Gillian Duff will prepare the meal at the Resource Centre at 7.30pm and SuperValu in Blessington are providing the food for the event themed “Food Rescue”.
