SOME thirty five transition year students have taken part in community work with Naas Tidy Towns (NTT).

They also cleaned out all of the flower and plant beds, including weeding around them and litter picked all the roads leading into Naas as well as some of the walking routes.

Rioghnagh Bracken, Naas Tidy Towns chairperson said that NTT is again seeking the help of at least two volunteers from each residential estate or street in the area. Ms. Bracken has announced her intention to step down as the chairperson this year to concentrate on clean-up, painting and the application entry form for this year’s competition.

“I’d prefer to leave the drafting of agendas and organising committee meetings to someone

else,” she stated. “

“All we are asking for these volunteers to give is just an hour a month,” added Mr. Bracken.

Those wishing to help can call 087-2851733. Meanwhile NTT’s AGM takes place at the Town House Hotel on February 21 at 8pm.
