Naas is set to become the first Age Friendly Town in County Kildare.

Local people are being invited to be part of this national initiative to make the town a place that is “sustainable, accessible and enjoyable for current and future generations”.

This community based project is of importance and value to the whole community. This will potentially place Naas on the map as a regional, national and European level.

The project is an initiative of the Ageing Well Network and the Kildare Age Friendly Programme. County Kildare is recognised as an Age Friendly County by the World Health Organisation. County Kildare is affiliated to the World Health Organisation’s Global Network, which addresses the twin global challenges of demographic ageing and urbanisation by focusing on the environmental, economic and social factors that contribute to active and healthy ageing in societies.

More details will be made available (as well as an opportunity to share views and experiences) at an information evening to be held in Naas Town Hall, on Tuesday March 12 from 7-9 pm.

For further information of attendance, please contact Brigid Butler at 087 2236558 or email Christine at Christine@ageingwellnetwork.ie.
