A Derrinturn woman was terrified following an attempted robbery at her home last week.

At 3pm on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 15, the woman two young women and a young man arrived at her door and managed to gain entry to the house.

They demanded money aggressively from her, but fled when she hit her monitored alarm.

When a voice answered the alarm they made their escape. Gardai confirmed that there was no physical violence involved, or injuries suffered, although the lady was badly shaken.

Gardai say they are following a definite line of inquiry in relation to event and a file is being prepared for
the DPP.

“It’s early in the investigation but we have identified a suspect in relation to this incident.”
