Talent galore at Kildare town Photo exhibition launch

THE standard of photography on show at the EVE Harvest Centre and Kildare Adult Learning Centre (KALC) photographic exhibition launch last Wednesday January 25 was supreme.

The selection of 100 images, which are on sale in aid of St Brigid’s Hospice and the Kildare Animal Foundation, will be on display at Aras Bride, Kildare town until February 10. The prints are priced at n10 each or two for n15.

A large crowd turned out for the launch which featured the work of John Joe, Mary, Ann, Ailish, Phyllis and Myra from Eve Harvest and Fay, Fran, Ted, Brid, Mick and Corina from KALC.

Tributes were paid to Michelle O’Donovan, Noel McCarthy and Lucy O’Mahoney who had worked with EVE Harvest but had since passed away. The talented photographers thanked everyone for supporting the exhibition and sale. They praised tutor Fred Cutland for his dedication and guidance. Representatives from St Brigid’s Hospice and the Kildare Animal Foundation acknowledged the group for choosing them as beneficaries from the sale of the photographs.

Dr Margaret Webb, General Manager of HSE EVE congratulated the photographers for producing such beautiful images while Des Murtagh of Kildare VEC remarked; “I think there are a lot of people that can be proud of this fantastic exhibition.”
