The tragic death has occurred of a Ticknevin man while on holidaying abroad.

Tommy Brennan, who has been living in Dunshaughlin in more recent times died while swimming during a golfing trip to Santa Ponsa in Majorca.

The people of Ticknevin and Carbury were stunned when they heard the sad news of his death last Wednesday, April 25.

Mr Brennan worked with Aer Lingus for many years as an Aircraft Mechanic, but in recent times he had established himself as a very successful businessman with a company called Kyron.

In a tribute to the 54 year old, Dunshaughlin GAA club chairman Seamus Mac Gabhann described Mr Brennan as a great friend and club member.

He was described as a “valued member of the club and took great interest” in it.

The late Mr Brennan was a committee member with the Dunshaughlin GAA golf society and had in recent weeks enjoyed a day with fellow members in Palmerston House.

Despite his involvement in the Meath club, Mr Mac Gabhann noted that Mr. Brennan “loved his beloved Kildare and never missed a chance to see them in action”.

He is survived by his wife Ann Jane, their children Suzanne and Andrew, relatives and a large circle of friends.
