KEVIN Dillon (26) from Hillview, Sallins was back in the USA at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina to see his old boss President Obama on September 6. The Convention is a big moment for President Obama as the race for the White House heats up.

The former Naas CBS student previously worked for President Obama in the US Senate and says that the Convention is vital to President Obama‘s re-election chances. “It’s a chance for him to defend his record, clarify the major differences between him and Mitt Romney and set out what he intends to do over the next four years.”

Kevin said he is hopeful another visit by President Obama to Ireland could be possible if he gets another term. “Last year’s visit was a real success and gave some great positive profile for the country. There are indications he will visit again if he gets another four years in the White House.”

Kevin is a community activist who plays GAA with Sallins. “A longer visit by Obama would be a great chance to showcase the country from the GAA to our golf courses”.

Kevin currently works as a Research and Policy Officer for Fianna Fáil.
