This year’s Easter parade in Naas will take place on Sunday March 31.

The parade is one of Kildare’s largest annual events and offers the community a very entertaining and enjoyable day.

“This year we will have two bands from Dillingen in Germany joining the parade with over 100 visitors traveling lead by the Mayor of Dillingen. We will also have local and national bands participating in the parade,” said Naas Mayor Willie Callaghan.

“Furthermore we will have visitors from St David’s in Wales coming over to enjoy the event.

“Naas is twinned with Dillingen and St David’s and we are delighted that they are travelling over for the Parade and the Gathering 2013.”

He said the event is an ideal opportunity for established or a new businesses as well as community groups to promote what they do to people living in the Naas area.

“This year Ireland is celebrating The Gathering and the parade has being accepted as one of the events in County Kildare,” added Callaghan.

“We would like participants in the parade to use The Gathering as the theme for this year. Floats, music, dancing and flyers, be can be used to draw attention to your float and allows you to gain public awareness.”

Anybody inteerested in taking part or seeking more information aboud the parade can contact Cllr. Callaghan at 086 2341009 or by email wcallaghan@eircom.net
