Newbridge man got car insurance mixed up
Insurance mix-up led to court appearance.
A NEWBRIDGE man found himself in court last Wednesday, September 25, charged with driving with no insurance after a mix-up over insurance.
Caomhain Joyce whose address is listed as 66 Roseberry Hill, Newbridge was stopped by Garda David Farragher on March 21 last at Main Street, Newbridge.
Representing him, Conal Boyce explained that his client’s car was in a garage getting a service done and he was using a vehicle that the garage gave him.
“It appears there was a mis-communication over who was supposed to transfer the insurance from his car to the garage car.
“The garage has provided the court with a letter confirming this mix-up,” Mr. Boyce said.
“I must admit,” Mr. Boyce added, “that I’ve often left my own car in, been given another one and neglected to check whether the discs are up to date or not.
“I do hope the Inspector isn’t taking notes!”
The matter was struck out.
