New release from talented Paul Nolan

A native of Newbridge and singer songwriter has just released his debut album entitled "I Am".

Paul Nolan who records under the artist name of ilsantion was first inspired to take up music after watching LiveAid back in 1985.

"I have†been a music enthusiast for almost as long as I can remember," he said. "I had my awakening while watching the Live Aid concerts on television in 1985. The live version of 'Dancing With Tears In My Eyes' blew me away and I subsequently bought my first album 'The Collection', by Ultravox. I spent the rest of the 1980s listening to bands like New Order and Depeche Mode, or Depressed Mode as my dad used to call them."

Paul began writing his own music in the 1990's, after getting a birthday gift of an acoustic guitar.

"I started recording my songs a number of years ago," he added. "I played some early tracks for friends and I was surprised to receive very positive responses and that encouraged me to take things futher. My new EP showcases four of my compositions, and features contributions from a number of Irish and International musicians. Blithn Kearney, a local writer, singer and pianist, provides vocals on a number of the tracks. Others involved in the project were Garry O'Briain (who produced the EP and played piano & guitar), Bruno Staehelin, Paul Johnson, Luis Asturias and Adrian Mantu. The first single to be taken from '… I Am' is called "This boy means nothing to me' has just been released."
