Athy man arrested as part of investigation into dissident republican activity.

GARDAI have arrested two men from the Lucan area in connection with irregularities at the NCT car testing centre in Fonthill, used by many drivers in north Kildare.

On the 14th September 2012, members of the Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation together with members of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrested two males from the Lucan area (32years and 24 years) in relation to an investigation into irregularities in relation to the passing of vehicles at the NCT centre, Fonthill between April-May 2011.

Both males were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, 1 at Clondalkin Station and 1 at Ronanstown Station. Both males were subsequently released from custody without charge pending the submission of an investigation file to the Director of Public Prosecutions
