NAAS Rugby club is appealing to present and former members to come up with old photographs.

The club hopes to put the pictures on display.

“A challenge for us all has been the location of archival material for display in the club particularly old photographs of teams from back years,” club PRO Nikki Gallagher explained.

And she continued, “As we are now 90 years old it would be nice to have some memories of those by-gone days displayed at the club.”

Nikki added, “We would really appreciate it if you could have a good old root in the attic for any old photos, press cuttings or anything else you find of interest related to our club. We will scan/ Photoshop the photographs or press cuttings and return the originals to you.”

Nikki can be contacted at nichola10@hotmail/.com.

Naas R.F.C. was formed in 1922. Before joining the senior ranks in the 1999-2000 season, Naas was one of the leading Junior Clubs in Irish Rugby.

In aiming to establish Naas RFC as the leading rugby club in Co. Kildare, Naas RFC has been working to become an all-inclusive community focused club, catering for all ages, sexes and religions.

Since Naas reached its latest goal, i.e. achieving All Ireland League (Senior) status, the club has had to develop major structural, financial and managerial plans.

This involves support from a number of areas such as Government Agencies, Local Authorities, Local Agencies, I.R.F.U. and on going fund-raising activities.

If you have an old photograph or press cutting, please don’t assume that the club has them already or that they are not interested - contact them and see. You can get in touch with Nikki at nichola10@hotmail/.com.
