A money box was stolen from a house in Newbridge on Saturday last, writes Paul O’Meara.

The incident took place at Seven Springs estate between 9 and 9.30 am when the house was occupied. The occupants were asleep when the incident happened.

A garda spokesman has warned householders not to leave money collection boxes visible from outside.

“It’s not clear if this was what happened in this case but some people are prepared to break into a house or apartment for small sums of money,” he said.
