Gardai at Maynooth Garda Station are continuing their investigations into a cash in transit robbery at a shopping centre on Dublin Road in the town on Thursday, 2 February last.

The incident occurred at about 10. 45am. Two men armed with metal bars assaulted a security man as he was about to service an ATM. They fled the scene with a cash box containing a quantity of cash. The security man was not seriously injured in the incident. One of the raiders is described as 5’11’’and medium build; he was wearing a navy hoodie, beige trousers and black and white runners.The second raider was wearing blue jeans, a grey top and a black jacket.Gardai believe that a third raider drove a get-away car - a green Mazda 323 hatchback. Gardai are particularly anxious to talk to anyone who was in the Dublin Road area between 10.30 and 11 am. Anyone with information is asked to call 01 6292380.
