Maynooth’s PJ meets Liverpool star

SATURDAY, 7 July, was a memorable day for Maynooth Town schoolboy soccer player, PJ Heslin.

PJ, from Maynooth and a student at Rathcoffey National School, won a competition to meet Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard on that day.

The competition, sponsored by Mace, gave PJ an opportunity to bring the AIB NDSL U9 winners Cup with him. His Maynooth Town team won the trophy last May.

Steven Gerrard was over to support a fundraiser organised by Keith Duffy for Autism Ireland. They played golf in Druids Glen had a soccer match in St. Pats with lots of celebrities from Cornation Street involved.
