A post-Valentine’s day sale of men will take place of Maynooth on Saturday, writes Henry Bauress.

The Man Auction is not a return to the more open slave trading days but a group of men who will offer various services for charity in aid of Little Way cancer patients support services in Clane and Our Lady’s Hospice Harold’s Cross.

Ten men, or their services, will be auctioned off at the Glenroyal Hotel on 23 February.

The men are likely to have some service to offer be it a service or a home chore (fixing a door or mowing the lawn).

Big Band Route 66 will play on the night. The auction is to begin at 9pm where each lot (man) will be called up.

Tickets cost €10 or €15 at the door or they can be bought at http://www.eventbrite.ie/event/5226699198 or by contacting Niamh (086 34 93788).
