Gardai are seeking witnessese to the incident.

Naas Gardai have today, Tuesday, August 21 arrested and are questioning a man in relation to the discovery of the body of a woman on Sunday.

It is understood that the remains, believed to be that of Co. Kildare woman Liz Dempsey, were discovered at a house in Lacken View, and there has been speculation that she may have been dead for some time.
State Pathologist, Dr. Marie Cassidy conducted a full post-mortem examination yesterday, Monday, August 20.

Rumours were rife throughout the town as Gardai remained tight lipped on the entire situation.

Not until this evening at almost 8.30pm, did they issue a formal statement confirming that a body had been found and saying that for “operational reasons, we are not disclosing details” of the post mortem report.

They say they are investigating “all the circumstances surrounding the discovery” of the woman’s body.
They added that the man who was arrested is 47 years of age and is being held at Naas Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
