Kildare’s winning streak continued earlier this week when a happy couple from the county collected their prize of €350,000 on Monday morning, the Lotto Plus 1 prize from the draw on Saturday 26 May 2012 last.

The happy couple purchased their €6 Quick pick selection in the Euro Spar store, Claregate Street in Kildare town on the day of the draw.

The happy couple, who wish their win to remain private, confessed themselves ‘dumbfounded and delighted’ when they realised they had won.

“We were busy in work so we only checked the ticket in the middle of last week. We had three tickets to check on the ticket checker – one had an €8 prize, the other didn’t win and the third gave a message of ‘Contact National Lottery’. When we found out we’d won, we couldn’t believe it,” said the lucky man.

“We’re going to change our car fairly soon and we plan to tell our family about the win sometime in the next month – can’t wait to do that because having to keep this a secret is killing us! We’re delighted that we’re helping to keep Kildare’s winning Lotto streak alive. Hopefully, we’ll hear Ray D’Arcy, our favourite Kildare man, giving our big win a mention on the radio when we’re on the way to work in the morning. That would be great craic altogether!”, smiled the lucky lady.

Claregate Street is proving to a lucky place to do your Lotto numbers as Giustina Macari, who won €5.7m in April, also purchased her ticket there, from the nearby L Malone’s newsagent.
