June busiest month in Kildare for burglars

Recent figures released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) suggest that burglaries in Co. Kildare have increased by 26% in 2011 compared to 2010. In 2011 the CSO recorded 1687 burglaries in Kildare. The report – which tracked burglaries between July 2010 and June 2011 - also revealed that Kildare accounts for 8% of burglaries nationwide.

The eircom PhoneWatch Burglary report also reveals that June is the month of the year when burglaries are mostly likely to occur in Kildare. €1,868 was the average value taken from each home burgled; and between 12pm and 4pm is the most likely time of day to be burgled (23% of all burglaries).
