Hewlett Packard announces job recruitment in Leixlip and Galway

Hewlett Packard has announced that it will be recruiting for 150 research and development jobs across its Irish operations in Leixlip and Galway to support global markets.

Additional to this, HP is planning to create up to 130 new technical and support roles as a result of this expansion.

Recruitment for these jobs will begin immediately. The jobs to be created are the result of HP’s consistent and continued achievement in Ireland, where management and employees have a proven record in the successful delivery of high quality projects.

HP Financial Services and HP International Bank provide HP customers with financial and asset management services to enable them to procure and manage IT equipment and services efficiently. This business has seen significant growth over recent years with new products, and services are being created to support HP customers worldwide. HP is seeking individuals with skills in project management, high end application development and systems analysis for their Leixlip operation.

New roles are also being provided at HP Global IT in Leixlip.

The HP Global Telecommunications Engineering and Architecture teams drive strategy for HP globally in Unified Communication, Voice and Data networking. HP is seeking engineers with 3-15 years experience as well as senior level computer science graduates to work on the development of next generation frameworks and architectures for HP IT and HP Networking.

Martin Murphy, Managing Director HP Ireland said: “The jobs announced today solidify Ireland’s strong position at the heart of HP’s commitment to invest in research and development. Both Galway and Leixlip are Centres of Excellence within HP and Irish based engineers are increasingly developing new leading edge capabilities servicing the needs of clients in the USA, China, India, Europe and Asia. This announcement marks a further deepening of HP’s investment in Ireland and our new recruits will join teams developing technologies and processes for global markets that will play a major part of HP’s future.”

He continued: “HP works closely with the Government and the IDA and notwithstanding recent improvements in Irish competitiveness, their support was essential to winning this investment for Ireland. The cumulative impact of this announcement on the Irish economy will be up to €45m over three years.”
