Athy man arrested as part of investigation into dissident republican activity.

A young woman had her handbag snatched as she walked towards Pairc Mhuire, Newbridge, on May 6 at 10.30pm, writes Paul O’Meara.

She had alighted from a bus at Moorefield and was walking through an alley towards Pairc Mhuire when she was approached from behind by a man who grabbed her bag.

He wore navy tracksuit bottoms and a grey hoodie and fled towards Pairc Mhuire and turned up towards Henry Street. The woman received no physical injuries.
