Further to an early morning inspection day three of the Punchestown Festival has been given the go ahead. There will be a five race card with three hurdles including the feature Ladbrokes.com World Series Hurdle , the famous Avon Ri La Touche Cross Country race and one bumper.
First race goes to post at 4.50. 5mm of rain fell overnight and the going is currently heavy. Today’s forecast is unsettled with some showers.
Richie Galway, Punchestown Racing Manager said: “The team on the track have worked through the night to provide an entirely new hurdle course and have dealt with any surface water that accumulated yesterday. The going is obviously heavy but we have worked with the trainers and jockeys throughout this process. First and foremost is the safety of the horses and riders”.
