The Defence Forces Training Centre will host a Gala Evening of Music and Song at St Brigid’s Church on Sunday, November 4 at 8pm. The Concert will feature the Baldonnel Singers and the Army No. 1 Band with special guests Paul Linehan and Lorraine Nolan.

The Army No. 1 Band and the Baldonnel singers were in launched the evening on October 4 last at the Curragh Military Museum accompanied by Paul Linehan and Lorraine Nolan. Lorraine Nolan from Newbridge, trained at the College of Music, Dublin and is best known for her part as lead vocalist in Riverdance with which she toured the US and Australia for two years.

The proceeds from this concert will go to the development of the Curragh Military Museum.

The Museum houses one of the most iconic symbols of Irish History the “Sliabh na mBan” Rolls Royce Armou red Car. This car occupies a special place in Irish Military History and in the history of Oglaigh na hÉireann, the Irish Defence Forces, in particular. Since its opening last year, over 35,000 visitors have visited the museum which is open to the public.

Tickets are on sale at Farrell & Nephew bookshop in Newbridge, the Curragh Military Museum, the Curragh Golf Club and Centra, Curragh Camp.
