FG chooses two Naas candidates

FINE Gael members in the Naas electoral area have selected Cllr Darren Scully and Anthony Lawlor to run for the party in this June's local elections.

The candidates were selected at a convention in the Town House Hotel attended by members from the Naas, Kill and Ballymore branches. The two candidates edged out a third nominee, John Farrelly from Caragh.

Commenting on the selection, chairwoman of the Naas Branch Patsy Lehane said: "Fine Gael is confident that we can win two seats in the Naas electoral area. Darren Scully brings his experience, youth and energy to the ticket, and after his impressive performance in the general election, is more than ready for a county council campaign.

The second Fine Gael candidate, Anthony Lawlor, is a former independent county councillor with vast experience in local politics and community life over the last number of years."
