A PRAYER service will be held for missing Naas man Trevor Deely on Thursday, December 6 at Ballycane Church at 8.30pm.

Trevor will be 12 years missing on Saturday, December 8, next.

He was last since in the early hours on a wet and windy night in December 2000 in the Haddington Road area of Dublin 4.

He was recorded on CCTV as crossing Baggot Street Bridge at 4.14am, heading in the direction of Haddington Road after attending an office Christmas party during a taxi strike.

“We have no leads,” said Trevor’s father Micheal speaking to the Leinster Leader.

“We just to want to remind people that he is still missing, We still have no information and we are still waiting.

“Trevor would be 34 now and the CCTV footage on his way home is the last thing we have - nothing else.

“It makes it very hard to live we but we have to remain positive and hope that something turns up.”

The family would also like to thank their friends and neighbours and Trevor’s friends and colleagues for all the support they have recieved over the years.

“We would like to acknowledge the support we get from the locals, the gardai and Fr John Brickley,” he added. “His friends and work colleagues always come to the service.”

Trevor was a Bank of Ireland employee who had moved from the family home in Naas and lived in a shared apartment in Serpentine Avenue, Ballsbridge.

He remained in regular contact with his family.

After his disappearance, the Garda Síochána mounted a large search effort, which included draining a stretch of the Grand Canal between Leeson Street and the Grand Canal Basin at Ringsend on two occasions.

Fearing that he may have drowned, Garda sub-aqua divers also searched the River Dodder, which had been flooded at the time of his disappearance.

His family mounted a massive awareness campaign.

Every lamp post and traffic light in Dublin, Holyhead and other ports was plastered with posters of him.

Trevor is 6 feet 2 inches tall, with red hair and green eyes.
