Death of man in Newbridge nightclub

Athy man arrested as part of investigation into dissident republican activity.

A man died in the early hours of Sunday morning at a nightclub in Newbridge.

Gardai investigating the incident are not treating his death as suspicious.

The man, believed to be in his late 40s, was found at the bottom of a stairs at Swift’s Nightclub on the town’s main street.

His remains were removed to Naas Hospital where a post-mortem is due to take place.
